Sherezaad Anwar Apparel

Zaad is the singular vision of me, Sherezaad Anwar. Although I have never gone to fashion school, I always had a desire to be involved in the world. Fashion carries this intangible aura of creativity and persona. Fashion designers live in a parallel world, and I have always been envious of their ability to pluck fleeting instances of that mystical place. My idols have always been those who dared to break that boundary of convention and comfort, including Rick Owens and Alexander Wang, who may be considered more modern figures in the history of fashion. I want my journey to inspire others who want to be designers or who want to be affiliated with the world of fashion design and production. I invite you to follow my journey and contact me if you have any questions regarding sizing, styling, fashion advice, or just my production methods or how I design or keep my production line safe and healthy. I am growing as a brand, so I also invite you to be critical and hold me to my highest standard so that I know how I can improve.

What is Sherezaad Anwar Apparel? What does it mean when you wear that little Zaad tag on your sleeve, or the inside of our dress? It means a commitment to safety and health. It means that you should be rest assured that everyone up and down the chain of production who created your dress has been treated with respect and dignity. That tag is the singular vision of one designer after all of those safeguards have been put into place.

History is very important. But at the same time, rules are meant to be broken. Fashion is not an easy thing to practice. Sort of like law and medicine, there are conventions that we need to stick to. Health and safety is my primary goal as a company, walking hand in hand with my own design philosophy. Thank you for reading this journal and please stay tuned for more entries.
